THRIVE! Enrichment Services is an Illinois-based nonprofit organization that is committed to serving the needs of individuals who have autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or other neurological, intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) with comorbid challenging behaviors (CB) and their families. THRIVE! is determined to improve every aspect of life for people with comorbid challenging behaviors by providing them with the resources, supports, services and interventions necessary for them to lead productive, meaningful and fulfilling lives with the greatest degree of independence possible.
Who We Are
The three founding board members all have personal and professional experience with challenging behaviors. They have broad and deep experience in education, social services, nonprofit management and disability advocacy.
Our Story
As of January 2020, there were nearly 20,000 adults with Autism or I/DD on the waiting list to receive vital services and supports in Illinois. Fortunately that number has decreased, but there are still far too many people waiting to receive assistance. On average, they wait 7 years. Those who have challenging behaviors often wait forever.
We are not willing to wait any longer. Individuals and families that are impacted by challenging behaviors need help right now. We are committed to meeting those needs with urgent expediency.
Mission
The mission of THRIVE! Enrichment Services is to provide the resources, supports and interventions that individuals who have challenging behaviors (CB) as a comorbidity to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) need to lead productive, meaningful and fulfilling lives with the greatest degree of self-determination and independence possible.
Vision
THRIVE! is determined to break down barriers to inclusion and replace them with bridges that connect people with comorbid challenging behaviors to opportunities to become valuable assets to our shared global society.
Our Commitment
THRIVE! is committed to helping individuals who have autism and other disabilities with comorbid challenging behaviors realize their potential and fully participate in, contribute to and benefit from their communities. Where others see problems, THRIVE! sees possibilities.
