Programs and Services

THRIVE! Enrichment Services is determined to help individuals who have challenging behaviors live their best lives and do so without limits. THRIVE! will achieve this goal by providing a wide variety of programs, resources, services and supports for individuals who have autism or I/DD with comorbid challenging behaviors, as well as their families, caregivers, service providers and communities.

Please note that our services and programs are not currently accepting participants. THRIVE! Enrichment Services is a startup organization and we are currently raising funds to secure an appropriate facility to house our agency and serve as a site for our services and programs. Please help us do this as quickly as possible by supporting us with a donation or by volunteering.

Behavioral Management
Modeled after the best in class programs for reducing the frequency, severity, intensity and duration of challenging behaviors, THRIVE! will provide the gold standard in evidence-based behavior management services to the individuals and families it will serve. THRIVE! will identify the causes and functions of challenging behaviors and develop data-based, person-centered plans to effectively and dramatically reduce incidences of challenging behavior.

Behavior Crisis Hotline, Remote Crisis De-Escalation and Mobile Crisis Response
THRIVE! will operate a behavior crisis hotline and a mobile crisis intervention unit that will travel to homes and community sites to provide emergency behavior de-escalation services. Families and caregivers will be able to call the hotline for advice on managing  challenging behaviors, participate in video conferences with trained volunteers who can assist with de-esclating behavior crises, and request that a mobile crisis response unit come to their home to provide assistance. Volunteers would be able to provide advice and guidance in the event that first responders become involved and to accompany affected individuals to emergency rooms or psychiatric hospitals, if necessary.

Clinical, Creative and Expressive Therapies
THRIVE! will provide clinical speech, communication and occupational therapy services. THRIVE! will also provide creative and expressive therapies, including art therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, drama therapy and recreational therapy.

Day Habilitation and Vocational Training
THRIVE! will provide intensive habilitation programs that focus on achieving independence in activities of daily living, developing functional communication skills and preparing for competitive work opportunities. THRIVE! will support its participants’ entrepreneurial ambitions with a Makers’ Lab, a Creators’ Studio and technical assistance.

Family and Caregiver Support
THRIVE! will provide counseling, resources, respite and support for families and caregivers.

Inpatient Short-Term Stabilization
THRIVE! would, ideally, like to partner with local hospitals, mental health providers and psychiatric facilities to create specialized inpatient programs for people who have ASD or I/DD with comorbid challenging behaviors that need immediate, intensive treatment for acute behavior escalations. Until that dream becomes a reality, THRIVE! will share information with local institutions and providers about best practices for providing inpatient services to individuals who have comorbid challenging behaviors and will help families identify appropriate short-term stabilization facilities for their loved ones who have comorbid challenging behaviors.

Medical and Dental Care
THRIVE! will provide on-site medical and dental care by clinicians who have been specially trained to work effectively with people who have autism or I/DD with comorbid challenging behaviors.
